Here is a collection of resources used for handwriting practice and teaching using dotted thirds. To make many of these worksheets I highly recommend the fonts available from Every school seems to use dotted thirds slightly differently, but at our school we think that learning to write on the solid line, using the dotted lines as guides, makes most sense. Later on you can take the dotted lines away and students can continue to write on the solid line.

These are all in PDF as you need the special fonts to be able to edit them - please consider buying the fonts from if you are using these resources - they are invaluable and very reasonably priced, and the money goes to a great cause (I have no association with the seller, just a satisfied customer). If you own the fonts and would like the original files, send me a message.
